Q & A with Mr Isaac Kobina Asiedu

★ Experience in Japan

I currently live in Akita, but before that, I lived in Sendai for about 23 years. I went to junior high school, high school, university, and graduate school all in Sendai, so Morinomiyako Sendai is like a second home to me. My initial experience in Japan (Sendai) was very difficult due to the fact that I couldn't speak a word in Japanese and was thrown into a Japanese junior high school. I bet you can imagine how tough it was for a lone African kid to be in the midst of Japanese kids without any sort of conversation whatsoever. However, looking back, those tough times made me who I am today. It made me mentally strong and gave me confidence to face any obstacle that comes my way. I would like to give a S/O to all the friends and family who helped and encouraged me along the way.

What about your AFAM experience ?:

I have been a member of the AFAM IT team for the past two years. Our main task is to maintain our website, design and create flyers, posters for events. It has been a fun ride working with the team and have gained valuable experience especially when it comes to designing skills. Thank you AFAM for the opportunity.
