Q & A with Mr Stephan Lawson

Tell us about your experience in Japan :

Coming to Japan has been one of the best choices I've made with regards to my aspirations for pursing higher education. Within my two year studying period, I've learnt so much from both Japanese and foreign students and this has helped in being a better student than I was prior to my arrival in Tohoku University. I've also enjoyed many festivals hosted in and around Sendai and tried so many delicious dishes with my favorite being gyutan (beef tongue, yum😋)

What about your AFAM experience ? :

Thanks to AFAM I've been able to participate in career, academic and cultural activities. During these events, I met many Africans who've been in Japan longer than I have and learnt from their experiences with adjusting to life in Japan. I also joined the dance group in AFAM for an annual cultural festival held in Sendai (Sendai World Festa). AFAM is indeed A- FAM -ily that makes you feel at home.
