Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” adopted at the United Nations Summit in September 2015 as the successor to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) formulated in 2001. 

The SDGs came into effect in 2016, and they are expected to run until 2030. They are made up of 17 goals with 169 targets to realize a sustainable world and pledges to leave no one behind.

    His Excellency Mr. Solomon Karanja MAINA, Ambassador of Kenya will give a lecture on “What are African Governments doing towards achievement of SDGs?”

    There will be various performances through traditional African costumes, music, dance, introductions of cuisine etc. Feel more familiar with the African culture.
  • Eat African food
    Enjoy African Cuisine at “lunch box” support from Tohoku University Catering Service.[Prior reservation required] Please inquire / reservation below AFAM.
  • Workshop by Embassy of 8 countries in Africa
    Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Eritrea, Burkina Faso and other embassies in eight countries will hold a workshop. There are also experiences to wear African national costumes.
